Surveillance video leads to capture, charging of Roseville armed robbery suspect

The Roseville Police Department captured an armed robbery suspect Monday with the help of home surveillance video, leading to charges in Ramsey County Wednesday, according to a release.

Jason Timothy McGowan of Fridley, Minn., had a BB pistol when he allegedly broke into a Roseville home Friday morning, upping his charges to one count of possession of a dangerous weapon and one count of second-degree burglary.

The 25-year-old is pictured on surveillance video holding a laptop and wearing a backpack, with the homeowner reporting multiple items stolen during the incident.

McGowan turned himself in without incident and faces 20 years in prison and a $35,000 fine.
