Portions of I-35W in Minneapolis closed this week

MINNEAPOLIS (FOX 9) - After several months of respite, Interstate 35W has some closures coming up this week. 

The left lane of southbound I-35W will be closed between Franklin Avenue and 42nd street from 10 p.m. Wednesday to 5 a.m. Thursday. Traffic will be reduced to one lane in that stretch due to previous lane closures. 

Southbound I-35W will be closed completely from Interstate 94 to Highway 62 starting at 10 p.m. Thursday to 5 a.m. Friday. Access to downtown Minneapolis from northbound I-35W will also be closed. 

I-35W has been under construction from downtown Minneapolis to the crosstown since August 2017. Construction is expected to be complete by fall 2021.
