Minneapolis police officer run over by suspected Cub Foods shoplifters

Around 10 p.m. last night, a Minneapolis police officer was run over by suspected shoplifters at the Cub Foods on the 5900 block of Nicollet Ave. S.

According to information provided by the Minneapolis Police Department, the suspects "drove directly at the officer, striking him." The officer shot at the vehicle, but it fled the scene.

The officer suffered minor injuries.

The suspects in the vehicle are described as a male and a female in their mid-30s, "of mixed race." They were in a dark Ford Explorer.
