Large hail hits southern Twin Cities, western Wisconsin

A severe storm dropped large hail in the southern metro area on Tuesday. The hail fell around 4 p.m. in Inver Grove Heights, Eagan and the surrounding area. Viewers sent in pictures of hail ranging in size from dimes to golf balls.

A severe storm warning continued to move east of the metro and even brought on a tornado warning for Barron and Polk counties in Wisconsin. According to Polk County emergency dispatchers, there were reports of downed trees and tennis ball sized hail.
