FOUND: Divers find body after boat found unoccupied on Lake Minnetonka Saturday

UPDATE: The Hennepin County Sheriff's Office has found a body of an adult male in his 40s from the metro area. 

The Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office searched for an adult male after an unoccupied boat was found circling near Big Island on Lake Minnetonka Saturday evening. 

The call came in at 6 p.m. and when deputies arrived they found nobody on board. After the boat was discovered, crews began searching the area with sonar equipment.

Crews searched the lake until 4 a.m. Sunday and were back in the water to resume the search before 7 a.m. They found a man's body late Sunday morning.

The body was located on the north side of Big Island in Lake Minnetonka, about 150-200 yards away from the shore. The water was 25 feet deep. 

The Sheriff's Office is investigating the cause of the death.
