Portion of MSP Terminal 1 re-opens after unattended bag tested positive for explosives

Terminal 1 at the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport has re-opened after an unattended bag caused partial evacuations. MSP officials say the bag was found at 12:15pm.

The bag was left at the United Airlines ticket counter and tested positive for explosives, police found only clothing inside.

Police are unsure of what triggered the initial positive test, but say there were no explosives founds inside.

The owner of the backpack is still unaccounted for and it’s unclear why the bag was left at the United Airlines ticket counter.

The Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport police are investigating.
