MN lawmaker cited for making out won't run for re-election

Minnesota Rep. Tara Mack (R-Apple Valley) who was cited last summer for making out with a fellow Republican lawmaker in a public park, said Saturday she will not run for re-election.

Mack, who chairs the House of Representatives Health and Human Services Committee, has held her seat for eight years. She cited family obligations as the reason for her decision not to run again, according to the Star Tribune, and said she wants to spend more time with her two children and husband.

Mack and Rep. Tim Kelly (R-Red Wing) were ticketed last August for causing a nuisance after a Dakota County park ranger caught them allegedly making out inside a parked car at Lebanon Hills Regional Park.
Kelly announced in February he will not run for re-election.
