Police locate Jeep involved in Minneapolis road rage shooting

MINNEAPOLIS (KMSP) - Minneapolis police believe they have located the Jeep involved in the road rage shooting on Hennepin Avenue in Minneapolis on April 5, but have not arrested any suspects.

The victim told police she was driving on Hennepin Avenue near the Walker Art Museum when missed her turn and honked at the person who cut her off. The car pulled up beside her, one of the passengers rolled down his window and shot at her several times.

The suspect vehicle was described as a tan, ivory or gold 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo with tinted windows. On April 12, police located the suspect vehicle parked on the street in front of 6046 Blaisdell Avenue S. after receiving anonymous tip.

The vehicle did not have license plates and was therefore towed to the Minneapolis impound lot. Investigators executed a search warrant on the vehicle, but did not find any firearms, ammunition or shell casings inside.
The suspects in the shooting were described as three men in their 20s. One of the men has shoulder-length black dreadlocks.

According to the search warrant, police interviewed two men with possible connections to the vehicle. One of the men was listed as owner of the vehicle, but said he had just sold the vehicle to another man.

Police contacted the alleged new owner of the car, who was described as having long dreadlocks. He said he had recently sold the vehicle, but admitted to being the one who parked the car on Blaisdell Avenue.

Both men denied being in the area during the shooting.
