9 things you can do to bring comfort to the Wetterling family

Patty Wetterling released a statement Monday afternoon, two days after the person of interest in the disappearance of her son, Jacob, reportedly revealed the location of his remains.

"The Wetterlings are deeply grieving and are pulling our family together. We will be eager to talk to media as soon as we are able," Patty said in a statement.

In the statement, Patty shared a few things that will bring her and her family comfort as they grieve:

Say a prayer
Light a candle
Be with friends
Play with your children
Giggle
Hold Hands
Eat ice cream
Create joy
Help your neighbor

"That is what will bring me comfort today," Patty said.

Others paid their respects to Jacob, by placing flowers at his tree outside his middle school as well as at the Paynesville farm, where it's believed investigators found his remains.

The Stearns County sheriff's office confirmed Saturday the remains of Jacob Wetterling had been found, nearly 27 years after he was abducted by a masked man while riding his bike near his home in St. Joseph, Minn. DETAILS
