One of Minnesota’s largest employers confirmed it will be furloughing contracted workers. Sources told FOX 9 contracted employees at Medtronic just learned of the furloughs on Tuesday, Jan. 15. The furloughs could last two weeks.

This does not affect full-time Medtronic employees, just those contracted by the company.

In a statement, Medtronic told FOX 9 the company "recently implemented several cost containment actions.” Medtronic is the largest medical device-maker in the world.
