Man posing as police officer pulls girl over in Spicer, Minn.

SPICER, Minn. (KMSP) - A man posing as a police officer pulled a girl over on Tuesday just north of Spicer, Minnesota.
According to the Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Office, the girl’s mother called the sheriff after her daughter was pulled over on Highway 23. The man who pulled her over said he did so because of her New London-Spicer High School parking pass in her car. He said that all vehicles with those types of passes were being stopped because of homecoming activities and the pranks that kids do because of homecoming. He then asked to search the girl’s car.
The man is described as a white male with no facial hair, approximately 6’ tall and of average build. Dressed “similarly to what a deputy sheriff wears,” he was sporting dark-colored cargo pants, a light-colored button-down short-sleeved shirt with a sewn-on emblem and a “law enforcement-type duty belt.”
Additionally, the man was driving “a sedan-type vehicle with red and blue lights on the grill.”
The sheriff’s office reminds drivers to ask to see the officer’s identification if they are pulled over.
