I-94 closed between I-394, I-35W in Minneapolis this weekend

Construction season is officially here, so if you are planning to make your way around the Twin Cities metro this weekend, be sure to give yourself some extra time.

Starting Friday at 10 p.m., Interstate 94 between Interstate 394 and Interstate 35W will be closed until Monday at 5 a.m. The construction is part of a multi-phase project to upgrade the section of the roadway.

Both directions of Hennepin/Lyndale Avenue from Dunwoody Boulevard to Oak Grove Street will also be closed.

This is not the only time that stretch of I-94 will be closed this season. Closures are also expected the next two weekends if the weather permits, according to MnDOT.
