Vikings insert Gerald Hodges into unfamiliar middle linebacker spot
EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (KMSP) - The search for a man in the middle of the Minnesota Vikings defense continues. This week, head coach Mike Zimmer will insert a guy who has never played middle linebacker -- not with the Vikings, not in college, not in high school.
But Zimmer feels Gerald Hodges can handle the job.
The Vikings have tried Audie Cole for a couple of games and rookie Eric Kendricks got the start against Oakland. Now Hodges gets his turn in the middle, and he feels it’s all about being versatile.
