MINNEAPOLIS (KMSP) - Downtown Minneapolis is buzzing with excitement with the official kickoff of Super Bowl fun with the opening of Super Bowl LIVE on Nicollet Mall.
The 10-day event opened up to the public early Friday evening with much fanfare, all while showcasing a taste of the north.
While the temperatures reached the 40s, songstress Idina Menzel gave the event a chillier feel by singing her hit song "Let it Go" from the Disney film "Frozen."
Participants joined in on tubing and skiing on the Birkie Bridge along the mall. Others marveled at the a grill, modeled after a Delta Airlines Jet, which can serve hundreds of burgers and sausages every hour.
Super Bowl LIVE will be open to the public through February 4. For more information on all the featured activities and free concerts click here.
