Snow totals: Tuesday storm snarls traffic, blankets southern Minnesota

As the Tuesday snow storm begins to wind down, snow total amounts are coming in.

While Minneapolis saw about 3.4 inches, south of the metro saw heavier numbers.

Woodbury received 5.5 inches of snow. Red Wing and Northfield both saw 8 inches or more, with Northfield getting 8.8 inches.

The snowfall made road conditions difficult in areas as visibility deteriorated. Traffic throughout the Twin Cities metro saw long delays. From 12 p.m. to 9 p.m., Minnesota State Patrol responded statewide to 149 crashes, with 16 ending in injury. There were 242 reports of spin outs or vehicles that went off the road. There were also three jackknifed semis.
