Gov. Walz congratulates UMD Bulldogs on winning back-to-back national championships

The University of Minnesota-Duluth men’s hockey team was honored at the Minnesota State Capitol Wednesday for winning its second consecutive NCAA National Championship

The Bulldogs faced off against University of Massachusetts Minutemen on April 13, winning 3-0. It was their third straight trip to the NCAA Frozen Four and their third national championship in school history.

“It's an incredible achievement and again [they] did it with such dignity and just quiet determination,” Gov. Tim Walz said.

UMD head coach Scott Sandelin presented Walz with a championship ring.
