Donations buoy Shiloh Temple toy drive after 'Toys For Tots' mix-up

After a mix up with "Toys for Tots," Shiloh Temple’s annual toy give away seemed very much in doubt.

The church typically gives out a thousand toys to families in need and was left trying to generate toy donations in just 24 hours. 

“I feel like George Bailey in a wonderful life," said Shiloh Temple Bishop Richard Howell. "People started coming in and just showering us.”

Despite the odds, the toys came flooding in. Donations both small and large were able to fill the void, allowing hundreds of kids to have a happy Christmas. 

“This is just a blessing, it’s beautiful," said a woman picking up toys for her kids. "I’m really happy to see this,”
