375 crashes, nearly 400 spinouts statewide during Sunday snow

The steady snowfall Sunday made for poor road conditions as Minnesota troopers responded to hundreds of crashes throughout the day.

Statewide from 6 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., Minnesota State Patrol responded to 375 crashes, 22 of which involved injuries. In addition, there were 395 spinouts or vehicles that went off the road.

One crash around noon near Shoreview on 694 near Rice Street involved 17 vehicles. Fortunately, there were no life-threatening injuries.

Western Wisconsin also saw its share of crashes, including a 40-vehicle pileup southeast of Eau Claire.
