40 vehicle pileup near Eau Claire, 7 injured

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (FOX 9) - Snowy conditions in western Wisconsin led to a 40 vehicle pileup southeast of Eau Claire Sunday afternoon, according to Wisconsin State Patrol.

Seven people were injured, with one facing a life-threatening injury.

The crash happened around noon on I-94 at mile marker 85 just north of Osseo. The crash closed traffic in both directions.

The crash involved seven semi trucks and 33 vehicles.

The highway has since reopened.
