Highway 212 in Carver County closed after crash

A stretch of Highway 212 near Norwood Young America closed Friday afternoon after a crash involving a box truck carrying 1,700 gallons of corrosive chemicals.

The crash involved a Chevrolet SUV and a Box Truck carrying corrosive chemicals, but authorities did not say how the crash happened. The Carver County Sheriff’s Office said Highway 212 was shut down in both directions from Tacoma Avenue to County Road 51 due to the crash and reopened after the cleanup. 

The Minnesota State Patrol said one person in the truck and two people in the SUV suffered non-life threatening injuries in the crash.
