VIDEO: Wild police chase, crash on Maryland Ave. in St. Paul

St. Paul police arrested a 29-year-old man after he led them on a chase through the East Side, Maplewood, North St. Paul, Oakdale and back to to St. Paul Wednesday.

Around 12:15 p.m., officers tried to stop a car occupied by a suspect wanted in an aggravated assault involving a firearm. The suspect fled in his car and led police on a chase through several cities, eventually heading back to St. Paul on Interstate 94.

When he exited on Maryland Avenue, he crashed, dropped the stolen gun next to the car and fled on foot. Officers caught him on the 300 block of Maryland and took him into custody.

The suspect was arrested for aggravated assault, fleeing police in a motor vehicle, possession of a firearm by an ineligible, possession of a stolen firearm and possession of a controlled substance.

Police say no one was injured in the incident.
