Update: 2 arrested after woman forced into car, shot in Minneapolis

Update: Minneapolis police say two people have been arrested in connection to Sunday's assault.

Minneapolis police are investigating after a woman was reportedly forced into a vehicle, assaulted and shot on West Broadway Avenue Sunday evening. 

The incident occurred at 5:15 p.m. on the 900 block of West Broadway, according to the Minneapolis Police Department. The victim told police she was able to jump from the vehicle near Fremont Avenue North and Broadway Avenue North and ran to a nearby home to call 911. 

The victim was taken to Hennepin Healthcare with a non-life threatening injury. According to Minneapolis police, this was not a random incident and the woman knows her attacker. 

The incident remains under investigation.
