Sheriff: 2 children killed, father dies after house fire in Big Lake, Minn.
BIG LAKE, Minn. (FOX 9) - Two children and two others were hospitalized in a house fire in Big Lake, Minnesota early Friday morning that investigators believe was intentionally set by their father. The father later died at the hospital, officials announced Saturday.
At 5:37 a.m., police and fire officials responded to a house fire on the 19000 block of Karen Lane. When they arrived at the scene, a large amount of smoke was coming from the home, according to the Big Lake Police Department.
Officers broke into the house and rescued a man and the four children inside.
Two of the children, 2-year-old Landon Parker and 1-year-old Spencer Parker, died at the hospital.
The other two children, ages 9 and 7, remain hospitalized.
Investigators believe the father intentionally set the fire. The State Fire Marshal's Office is investigating.
