Man saves fawn stuck in ice near Morris, Minn.

- A veteran was enjoying Veteran's weekend when he noticed a fawn stuck in ice Sunday morning near Morris, Minnesota.

Around 9 a.m., Darick Kvam, his friend and his dad saw something brown run through the trees and onto the ice. Once Kvam got to the shoreline, he noticed that it was a fawn.

"I knew it was stuck, so I walked out and took my time because I could tell it was scared," Kvam said.

Kvam said he pet the fawn to calm it down and then pulled it from the ice. The fawn was not wounded, and it ran off into the trees once they reached the shoreline.

"It was cool. It was a once in a lifetime experience."
