Man bound, beaten during Cambridge home burglary

Burglars left a man bound and beaten after stealing money and guns from his home Friday evening in Cambridge, Minnesota, according to the Isanti County Sheriff's Office.

Officials say around 6:35 p.m. dispatch received a 911 call from the homeowner, who lives in the 32300 block of Goldenrod Street NW.

He told officials when he got home two masked men were inside waiting for him. One man pulled out a handgun and told him to get on the ground. The men then tied the homeowner up and beat him up. Before leaving, the men took "a large sum of cash and coins" as well as some guns. When the suspects left, the homeowner managed to free himself and call for help.

Emergency crews took him to Cambridge Medical Center.

Investigators believe the suspects targeted the home and this is an isolated incident. The case is still under investigation.
