Lynx fans show up in force for WNBA Finals

Lynx fans suffered a heartbreaking loss at the Barn on Sunday afternoon, but fans still believe the team has what it takes to go all the way once again.

On their way to Williams Arena, Lynx fans all said their team is on the road to another championship.

"This is the finals. This is it," Lynx fan Anne Beers said. "This is the big dynasty, the two of them. So you want to be here. It's exciting."

With the Lynx hosting the Sparks in game one of the WNBA Finals, a near sellout crowd came to cheer on the hometown team in search of its fourth title.

"I just love watching them. I'm a fan, win or lose," Lynx fan Cindy Eisenschenk said. "Of course they are going to win today, but I'm a fan either way."

For Eisenschenk, rooting for the Lynx is always a hair raising experience.

"I asked my daughter to spray paint it their colors because she dared me the other day, and I can't pass up a dare," she said.

While the Lynx' fan loyalty is enough to make other teams around the league green with envy.

"We are Simone fans but we love Maya and we love Sylvia. Big Syl," Lynx fan Deone Conner, who was wearing matching green t-shirts with her family at the game, said.

Even though in the end, the Lynx weren't able to eke out a victory, fans are confident the team will bounce back.

"It's not like our Lynx to look like rabbits in the headlights," Lynx fan Carol Weissenborn said. "What this team has done for women and girls in Minnesota is phenomenal. Nothing can take that away."
