Lucky you: Metro Transit offers free rides on St. Patrick's Day

Metro Transit announced all bus and train routes will be free for St. Patrick’s Day.

Local law enforcement, MillerCoors and Metro Transit are teaming up to offer free rides from 6 p.m. Saturday until 3 a.m. Sunday morning.

Officials want everyone enjoying green beer to get home safely.

“Your luck will run out if you drive drunk on St. Patrick’s Day,” the Minnesota State Patrol said on Twitter.

Extra DWI enforcement will be out on Minnesota roads over the weekend. Anyone taking part in the Irish festivities, or anyone that would simply like to avoid driving on the holiday is encouraged to take advantage of the free public transportation.
