Home explosion kills one in northern Wisconsin

Authorities are investigating after a woman died when her house exploded near the Township of Cable, Wisconsin Thursday evening. 

The Bayfield County Sheriff's Office says the home, owned by Joyce and Raymond Reidl, exploded around 6:00 p.m. When authorities arrived on scene, the home had been blown apart and a portion was fully engulfed in flames.

Raymond was able to escape the structure with the help of a neighbor, but Joyce who was trapped in the debris, had to be freed by first responders. 

Both patients were transported by air to Hennepin County Medical Center, where Joyce passed away a short time later because of her injuries.

The cause of the explosion remains under investiagtion.
