Driver rescued after car goes into holding pond off I-494 in Bloomington

A driver had to be rescued Thursday morning after their car went into a holding pond at Interstate 494 and Highway 169 in Bloomington, Minnesota.

The incident occurred around 10:30 a.m.

The Bloomington and Edina fire departments got the victim out of the water. They were evaluated by Allina EMS, but were not injured, according to the Bloomington Fire Department.

Roads in the Twin Cities metro are snow covered and icy due to an April storm blowing through the region. Drivers are advised to slow down in these hazardous conditions.

THe Minnesota State Patrol is investigating the incident.
