Charges: Confrontation over nude photos ends in brutal beating

A man recently released after serving time for murder is back behind bars Wednesday night for another brutal attack.

Bruce Fry, 47, of Minneapolis was charged with second degree attempted murder, but those charges are expected to be amended once the victim is taken off life support.

According to the criminal complaint, Minneapolis police responded Friday to the Elliot Court Apartments, which are a few blocks southeast of U.S. Bank Stadium. They found a man in the hallway lying in a pool of blood with a huge cut on his head. The man has been declared brain dead and is being kept alive for organ donation.

According to the complaint, the victim came to the apartment to confront Fry. The victim’s family told investigators Fry had been showing nude photos of the victim’s sister to a number of people.

Surveillance video captured the two men exchanging words. Fry then makes stabbing motions - first to the victim’s head and then his torso. After the victim stumbles to the ground, Fry is seen running out a back door.

Fry was arrested on Monday in south Minneapolis, near where he had been staying at an Airbnb since the assault.

Fry is in custody at Hennepin County Jail.
