CHANHASSEN, Minn. (KMSP) - The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension is investigating a fatal police-involved shooting off Highway 7 in Chanhassen, Minnesota that left a 16-year-old boy dead.
According to the BCA, around 10 a.m. Carver County deputies responded to a home in the 6400 block of Oriole Avenue after a woman reported her son was suicidal and threatening her with knives and a baseball bat.
The victim was identified as Archer Amorosi by his classmates. In a tweet, his teammates remembered Amorosi as a "high energy, funny, and loving kid who will always be remembered by this team and community."

When deputies arrived, they used a Taser on Amorosi. During the incident, two Carver County deputies shot at the teen, who was later pronounced dead at the scene.
A witness up the road from the scene told Fox 9 he heard police yell, “stop, stop, get down, get down” followed by at least a dozen gunshots.
The Midwest Regional Medical Examiner's Office will identify the teen and determine a cause of death after completing the autopsy.
Fox 9 is not naming the teen at this point, but what happened is taking a toll on the young men and women who joined family along the yellow tape line.
“He was always super fun, nice guy,” said one classmate. “Only knew him a little bit - nice guy to be around.”
BCA officials say one deputy was treated and released at a Chaska hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
The BCA is still gathering evidence and completing interviews with witnesses. Parts of the incident may have been captured on body cameras and dash camera video.
The names of the officers who fired their weapons will be released after they have been interviewed.
Once the investigation is complete, the BCA will turn over its findings to the Carver County Attorney's Office.
