An age-old holiday tradition comes to an end at Z's Trees

It's the end of an era at Z's trees, as many made the trip to pick out and cut down the perfect Christmas tree, one last time.

Z’s Trees is not closing the business, but they’ll only be offering pre-cut Christmas trees in years to come. They have 25,000 Evergreens planted across 40 acres of countryside in Waconia, Minnesota.

For years they’ve been allowing Minnesotans to take part in an age-old holiday tradition by choosing and cutting their own Christmas trees, a day many in the state cherish as an annual family outing.

Customers piled into the wagons and rode into the fields Sunday, cut their trees and visited with Santa and Mrs. Clause while their Christmas trees were bundled up and carried to their cars.
