Young brothers, woman killed in 2-vehicle crash in Goodhue County

Three people were killed and two others were injured in a two-vehicle crash in southeastern Minnesota Saturday morning. 

Around 11:45 a.m., authorities with the Goodhue County sheriff's office responded to a crash on County Road 18 in Welch Township. According to authorities, a man was driving north when he crossed over the center line on a curve. A woman driving an SUV tried to swerve to avoid him, but was unable to and struck the passenger side of his car.

The man had three passengers in his car, all of whom died at the scene. They have been identified as Stacy Lande, 47, of Hager City, Wis., Zachary Johnson, 8 and Taylor Johnson, 5, of Red Wing, Minn. The brothers were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash.

The man suffered serious injuries in the crash.

The SUV driver has been identified as Lynn Rapp, 68, of Buffalo Gap, S.D. She suffered minor injuries in the crash. She was wearing a seat belt.
