8-year-old boy injured in 15-foot fall off rock in Taylors Falls

An eight-year-old boy is in serious condition after falling about 15 feet at Interstate Park in Taylors Falls, Minnesota, according to the Chisago County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies responded to a report of a rock fall at the park Thursday at 2 p.m.

Sergeant Steve Pouti said the boy had been hiking with family near Angle Rock when he fell.

The child landed in an area that could not be reached on foot due to surrounding cliffs. Firefighters using a watercraft reached the boy, who was later airlifted to Regions Hospital.
