1 man dead after officer-involved shooting in Stillwater, Minnesota

One man is dead after an officer-involved shooting in Stillwater, Minnesota early Wednesday morning. 

At 1 a.m., officers from Stillwater, Bayport and Oak Park Heights police departments responded to a call involving a suicidal man on the 1200 block of 4th Street South, according to the Washington County Sheriff's Office. The man was armed with a knife. 

The man was taken to Lakeview Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. 

The man was identified as Keaton James Larson, 22, of Stillwater. 

The BCA released the names of the officers who discharged their weapons during the incident. According to the report, Hunter Julien, a 5-year veteran of Stillwater Police, is the only one who discharged his firearm. Laura McBroom, a 1-year veteran of Stillwater Police, Brian Tennessen, a 2-year veteran of Oak Park Heights Police and Brittany Lepowsky, a 2-year veteran of Bayport Police all discharged their Tasers. 

All of the officers named in the report have been put on standard administrative leave.

Body-worn cameras and squad car cameras were on during the shooting. 

The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension has been asked to conduct an independent investigation into the incident.
