One man is in "very serious" condition after he was shot early Sunday morning in northeast Minneapolis.

According to Minneapolis police spokesperson John Elder, an officer who was off-duty reported shots fired in the parking lot Moose Bar & Grill, located at 356 Monroe Street NE. When officers arrived, they located a shooting victim and rendered aid.

The suspect fled on foot and police attempted to track him with a K-9 officer, but the search was called off due to high pedestrian traffic.

The victim was transported to the hospital and rushed into surgery. Police say his injuries are "very serious."

Officers spoke with witnesses and are continuing to investigate. No arrests have been made yet.
