Significant snow could arrive in Twin Cities next week

Snow lovers rejoice…we might…MIGHT be in for the first real snowfall of the season next week. Although the Twin Cities and parts of Southern Minnesota saw an inch or two of slushy snow on Thanksgiving Day, the Saturday sun is slowly wearing that down.

FOX 9 Chief Meteorologist Ian Leonard says a storm system early next week might give us some accumulating snow. Ian says it’s too early to start exact totals; there are still some variables with this system that could change things in the next 24 hours. However, it’s pretty certain some places in Minnesota are looking at a solid snowfall.

According to National Weather Service records, we are overdue for a visit from Old Man Winter. The average snow fall for November is 9.3 inches…so we have a ways to go.
