VIDEO: Gophers earn bid to NCAA Tournament, first face Green Bay

The Minnesota Gophers women's basketball team is pulling out their dancing shoes.

The team watched breathlessly in Williams Arena as they waited for their seeding in the NCAA Tournament as part of Selection Monday.

In the Spokane region, the Gophers snagged a ten seed and are set to play Green Bay, which earned a seven seed. The two teams will square off on Friday at 4 p.m. CT in Eugene, Oregon.

The Gophers finished 23-8 overall and 11-5 in conference play. The team went into the Big Ten Conference Tournament seeded fourth and eventually lost to Ohio State, which won the tournament.

Green Bay finished 29-3 overall.

The Gophers have been to the NCAA Tournament nine times, going as far as the Final Four in the 2003-04 season. Their most recent appearance was in the 2014-15 season, which ended in the first round. This will be the tenth appearance in school history.
