Dozens of severe weather reports as the heat creates some dangerous storms

Sunday was a tale of 2 stories with plenty of heat and humidity through much of the day with heat indices topping 110° in some spots. Then the storms hit with a vengeance up and down the 94 corridor.  These suckers produced 60 to 80 mph winds recorded from Wadena to Brainerd, funnel clouds and a few tornadoes around Fergus Falls, and tens of thousands of lightning strikes all the way through the metro.  Here is a look at the peak heat index through the day, a map representation of storm reports across the region, and rainfall totals area wide.
