What a marvelous weekend!! Well… if you are looking to cure drought issues anyway. Granted, both days weren't a wash out in most cases and if you are in the metro, especially the east side, you didn't see much rain at all. But the extra water is needed across the state as drought conditions continue. That being said, when the next drought monitor comes out on Thursday, I bet many areas will show some signs of improvement, especially for central Minnesota where widespread amounts of 1-3" fell. Here are some of the totals from points across the state. Remember that these are from official rain gauge sites and your backyard totals will vary, quite a bit in some cases.
Here is a look at a color coated map approximating how much rain the area has seen so far this month followed by if we are above or below average.
The great news is we are now sitting above average in most cases area wide for the month of May, but now a break is needed before hopefully more widespread rain in a few days.
