SNOW TOTALS: A little in Minneapolis to 9 inches in northern Minnesota

Through 2 p.m. Thursday, snow totals of up to 9 inches have been reported in northern Minnesota. The Twin Cities metro only received less than one inch of snow on top of a layer of ice that started forming with light rain Wednesday night.

There were fewer than 50 crashes statewide on Thursday morning. From midnight to 10 a.m., there were 42 crashes, 25 vehicle spin outs and six jackknifed semi trucks, according to the Minnesota State Patrol. You can check our live traffic map at fox9.com/traffic.
