Ice arena flooded, roads washed out in Waseca, Minn.

- Homes were left behind, roads are closed and an ice arena is underwater after 10 inches of rain flooded the city of Waseca, Minnesota, about 75 miles south of the Twin Cities.

“It's pretty safe to say hockey will not start on Saturday,” the Waseca Community Arena posted on Twitter. “6 to 8 inches of standing water on top of ice inside.”

Waseca schools are closed Thursday.

According to the Waseca County Sheriff, the following roads were closed Thursday morning:

Highway 14

Highway 13 at 330th Avenue

County Road 2 near Farm America

County Road 3 south of Janesville

County Road 3 north of Janesville

Reeds Lake road at the new culvert

County Road 27 near the airport

County Road 75 bridge washed out near a Roger Haley’s residence

County Road 75 just east of County Road 9

Old Highway 14 by Keislers down to one lane

County road 5 near Woodville Cemetery

County Road 4 at County Road 29 south

County Road 76 a half-mile south of County Road 9

County Road 28 two miles south of Highway 30

County Road 4 west of the Wilton Bridge – road washed out and completely gone

County Road 12 just north of 64

County Road 51 a half-mile south of County Road 112 – road is gone and washed out
