Blinding rain, damaging wind sweep across Minnesota

Waves of heavy rain moved from the southern Twin Cities metro through the Interstate 94 Corridor through 10 a.m. creating a wet commute that let up just as many drivers arrived to work after rush hour.

Hail fell in Lakeville, and there was some street flooding in Belle Plaine. There have been some reports of 2-3 inch rainfall amounts in the southern and eastern metro, however, so far we've had no reports of serious damage. A Fox 9 viewer in southern Minnesota sent photos of some damage to a farm outside of Mankato.

Monday outlook

Expect some strong winds after the heavy rains move through….wind gusts of up to 50 MPH are possible in the metro with stronger winds to the north.
