Ice-covered roads in the northern two-thirds of Minnesota forced the Minnesota State Patrol to issue a no travel advisory from St. Cloud to the North Dakota border until noon Saturday.
As of 10 a.m. Saturday, there were 25 crashes in the St. Cloud area, and 15 spinouts requiring tow assistance. In west central Minnesota, there were 30 crashes, 6 jackknifed semis and an additional 28 spinouts. No serious injuries were reported.
Snow plow rollover
A MnDOT plow truck was dropping sand and salt on Highway 27 west of Wheaton, Minn. when the truck entered a curve, slid into the north ditch and rolled on its side. The plow driver was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
