Motorcyclist hits deer, then gets hit by minivan near Princeton, Minn.

A Princeton, Minn. man was riding his motorcycle on County Road 2 Monday evening when he struck a deer and was thrown from the bike. Witnesses approached 44-year-old Roger Claassen to render aid, but while doing so, a minivan swerved to avoid the witnesses and struck Claassen.

The accident happened near the intersection of 124th Street in Baldwin Township, Minn. at about 7:30 p.m. The Sherburne County sheriff’s office says it was dark at the time of the accident.

Firefighters and police continued CPR until 7:40 p.m., when Claassen was pronounced dead.
