Motorcycle crash highlights dangers of Highway 3 near Farmington

A motorcyclist was seriously injured in a crash Thursday afternoon at the intersection of Highway 3 and 200th Street W. in Farmington, Minn., and those who live in the area say it’s just the latest serious incident on a dangerous stretch of rural road.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, 56-year-old Daniel Schulte of Farmington was riding his Harley Davidson  Road Star on northbound Highway 3 when a Mercury Mountaineer SUV pulled onto the highway from 200th Street and collided with the motorcycle.  Schulte was taken to Regions Hospital with serious injuries.
