Freezing drizzle is creating hazardous road conditions in northern Minnesota Monday morning.

Most roads across northeastern Minnesota from Brainerd to Duluth are partially or completely covered in snow or ice, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.  MnDOT is also reporting slick roads and areas of black ice across portions of western and central Minnesota.

At 8: 12 a.m., the Minnesota State Patrol reported vehicles sliding of the road and numerous crashes throughout the Detroit Lakes District, including Highway 75 in Breckenridge, Highway 59 North in Mahnomen, Highway 87 in Wolf Lake and Interstate 94 in Dalton.

MnDOT is reminding drivers to slow down and give extra following distance, especially on bridges and overpasses, when roads area icy.
