WNBA GMs snub Lynx in WNBA Finals survey

The WNBA defending champion Minnesota Lynx now have bulletin board material to fuel another Finals run. The Lynx have won 3 of the past 5 WNBA Finals, but league general managers have voted the Phoenix Mercury as most likely to win the title in 2016.

Phoenix collected 58 percent of the votes in the GM survey. The Lynx were second, with 17 percent of the vote.

The 20th season of WNBA basketball tips off on Saturday, May 14 with 5 games, highlighted by a Lynx-Mercury matchup in primetime on ESPN. WNBA President Lisa Borders will present Lynx players with their championship rings before the game.

The Chicago Sky’s Elena Delle Donne was chosen to repeat as WNBA Most Valuable Player in the preseason survey.
