J.P. Parise dies at 73 after battle with lung cancer

J.P. Parise passed away Wednesday night at his home in Prior Lake, Minn. after a year-long battle with lung cancer. He was 73.

A standout left wing for the Minnesota North Stars in the 1960s and 70s, Parise returned to Minnesota after his playing career to coach the team.

J.P. Parise is survived by his wife, Donna, and their two sons, Jordan and Zach -- a star in his own right for the Minnesota Wild. Funeral arrangements will be announced at a later time.
