New security measures for Wild home games

- Minnesota Wild fans will see new security measures when they attend home games this season.

The team announced the new measures Monday. They take effect Sept. 21 at Xcel Energy Center as part of a league-wide effort.

Walk-through metal detectors have been added to all entrances. The Wild say the detectors will give fans "a smoother, faster screening environment."

All fans, media, vendors and staff will be required to pass through the detectors when they enter Wild games. Fans will not be asked to remove jackets, shoes, belts, keys, watches or coins, but cellphones and cameras will have to be set in designated bins before fans can pass through the detectors.

Gates will open 75 minutes before gametime to give fans time to get used to the new screening process.
